Lieutenant Buompensiero is a twenty-seven-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. He began his career February 3, 1993 and was assigned to the Indio Jail. In August of 1995, he transferred to patrol at the Palm Desert Station and worked in the cities of Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage and the unincorporated county areas. In August of 2000, he was assigned to the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET), and in January of 2001 he was reassigned to the Central Homicide Unit (CHU). In February of 2002, Lieutenant Buompensiero was promoted to the rank of Investigator within the Central Homicide Unit.
In February of 2008, Lieutenant Buompensiero promoted to the rank of Sergeant and transferred to the Palm Desert Station where he worked as a patrol supervisor. In August of 2009, Lieutenant Buompensiero was reassigned to the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET), and in August of 2010 he was reassigned to the Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU). In August of 2012, Lieutenant Buompensiero was transferred back to the Central Homicide Unit (CHU) as a supervisor.
In September of 2017, Lieutenant Buompensiero promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned to the Thermal Station. While at the Thermal Station, Lieutenant Buompensiero has overseen the contract city of Coachella, patrol, administration, and the investigations bureau. He possesses a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California Coast University. Lieutenant Buompensiero and his family reside in the Coachella Valley.
